Le jardin en trou de serrure est dédié aux aromates au Camping du Mettey. Économique en eau et auto-fertile, ce type de petit jardin est ultra-productif. C’est une butte de forme ronde dont le pourtour n’est pas fermé, laissant un passage (créant, vu du dessus, la forme d’un trou de serrure) pour pouvoir atteindre son centre.
C’est un support de culture qui favorise les effets de bordures et la création de microclimats propices à la biodiversité et aux plantes cultivées dessus. Appelé aussi keyhole garden il a aussi un composteur intégré pour le maintien de la fertilité. Placé au centre du cercle, il favorise les échanges entre l’espace de compostage et le substrat de plantation tout autour. Les vers de terre et autres décomposeurs du compost peuvent circuler librement entre le composteur central et le substrat, diffusant les nutriments dans l’ensemble du keyhole garden de façon lente et harmonieuse.
The keyhole garden is dedicated to herbs at Camping du Mettey. Economical in water and self-fertilizing, this type of small garden is ultra-productive. It is a round mound whose perimeter is not closed, leaving a passage (creating, seen from above, the shape of a keyhole) to reach its center.
It is a growing medium that favors the effects of borders and the creation of microclimates favorable to biodiversity and to the plants grown on it. It has an integrated composter to maintain fertility. Placed in the center of the circle, it favors exchanges between the composting space and the surrounding planting substrate. Earthworms and other compost decomposers can move freely between the central composter and the substrate, spreading nutrients throughout the keyhole garden in a slow and harmonious way.

In the middle of our eco-camp, you will find our shared garden, realized in permaculture. Permaculture is a method of agriculture based on the principles of sustainable development, respectful of biodiversity and human beings. It consists in imitating the functioning of natural ecosystems.
The crops of the garden are available at the reception of the campsite and the service is by the hat: you buy the products at the price you think is right!
